So I am a mother, a wife, a daughter/daughter-in-law and a sister/sister-in-law. I also like to think I am a campaigner & fundraiser.
I have 2 children, a boy 21 and a girl 14 – both of whom have spastic quadriplegia cerebral palsy. Both of whom work hard to do their best to achieve.
I have a wonderful husband, who I love more now than I did when I first met and married him. Apparently he feels the same! Believe me life has thrown some shit at us so that’s no mean feat!
I have a great Mum and Dad and a wonderful Father-in-Law.
I have a brother, who is married to a lovely girl, and a sister-in-law who is married to a really nice guy.
I try hard to campaign on issues that are close to be heart – mainly issues affecting people with disabilities, especially children. My son is the main campaigner in our family, and I spent a fair amount of my time trying to support him in any way I can.
I also try to fundraise for the many charities that have helped us offering advice and providing invaluable equipment that we just won’t be able to access any other way.
As a family, I like to think, we all work hard (none more so than my husband) to be able to have the life we want.
Oh… and I was born with a congenital heart condition that means I only have a single ventricle, one of my valves is a bit rubbish (well a lot rubbish actually) and transposition of the great arteries. I’ve had a couple of operations & a few scary moments, but I’m still here…..
